Hylton B. Dupree, Jr., P.C.Senior and founding partner Hylton Dupree is a highly respected attorney among his peers and clients and was voted “Best of Cobb” in 1988, 1989, 1990 and 1994. He is listed in The Best Lawyers in America for 2006 and 2007 in the field of litigation and in Georgia Super Lawyers in the field of general litigation. In 2006, Mr. Dupree received the Award of Excellence from the Trial and General Practice Section of the State Bar of Georgia. He has been described by his fellow attorneys as having strong moral values, high levels of integrity and an intellect that makes him extremely competent in the legal field. He is known for taking on and winning difficult and complicated criminal and civil cases and is regarded by many as an exceptional attorney in all fields of practice.

Mr. Dupree was born in Augusta, Georgia, graduated from the University of Georgia (A.B., 1965; A.B.J., 1966), obtained his Juris Doctor at Mercer University in 1969 (Mercer Law Review), became a member of the Georgia Bar in 1969 and admitted to the United States Supreme Court in 1982. Mr. Dupree is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a member of the Cobb County Bar Association (President 1984-1985; Member Board of Trustees) and American Bar Association; State Bar of Georgia (Member Board of Bar Examiners 1999 to 2005, Chair 2005, Review Panel 1996-1999, Chair 1999; Board of Governors 1980-1996); Robert Cleveland Professional Award (1996); Atlanta Journal Constitution Community Service Award of the Year (1983); The Association of Trial Lawyers of America; National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys; Georgia Trial Lawyers Association; Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (Vice President 7th District, 1985); and Cobb County Trial Lawyers Association.

Mr. Dupree currently concentrates his legal practice in the areas of family law, civil litigation, probate, criminal law and personal injury. He is married to Patsy Dupree and they have two children, four grandsons and one granddaughter. Mr. Dupree is a member of the Roswell Street Baptist Church and enjoys hunting, fishing and watching Little League baseball.

M. Scott Kimbrough, P.C.

M. Scott Kimbrough, P.C. M. Scott Kimbrough joined Dupree and Kimbrough, LLP in 1998 and currently concentrates his legal practice in the areas of family law, criminal law, civil litigation, personal injury, and probate.  Mr. Kimbrough is originally from Cobb County and graduated from Florida State University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance (Golden Key Academic Honorary).  He worked with the family owned Ernest & Julio Gallo winery before receiving his Juris Doctor from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in 1998.  Mr. Kimbrough was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 1998 (Member and District Representative: Young Lawyers Division) and is a member of the Cobb County Bar (Board of Governors; President and past Vice-President: Young Lawyers Section) and the American Bar Association.  Mr. Kimbrough is currently admitted to practice in the Supreme Court, Georgia; Court of Appeals, Georgia; U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit; and the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of Georgia.  He is a member of the Charles Longstreet Weltner Family Law Inn of Court as well.  Mr. Kimbrough, his wife Kimbrell and their two sons reside in Marietta and are members of Roswell Street Baptist Church. 

Blake R. Carl

Blake R. CarlBlake R. Carl joined Dupree and Kimbrough, LLP in December, 2009 as an associate attorney.  Mr. Carl concentrates his legal practice in the areas of family law, general civil litigation, probate, and criminal law.  Mr. Carl grew up in Gainesville, Georgia, and graduated cum laude from the University of South Carolina in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science.  In 2006, he received both a Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Civil Law degree from the Louisiana State University Law Center.  Prior to joining Dupree and Kimbrough, LLP, Mr. Carl was an associate attorney at Richard L. Moore, P.C. in Marietta, Georgia.  Mr. Carl became a member of the Georgia Bar, American Bar Association, Cobb County Bar Association, and Atlanta Bar Association in 2006 and is currently admitted to practice in the Court of Appeals of the State of Georgia and the Georgia Supreme Court.  In 2007, he was an Assistant Instructor at Kennesaw State University’s Paralegal Program in the areas of Legal Research and Writing I and II.  Mr. Carl currently lives in the Buckhead area of Atlanta, enjoys watching and attending sporting events, and is an avid fan of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks and the Atlanta Braves.
